Middle Neebish Lighthouse, MI (11-13-07) : A messy hike to an ugly, unkempt lighthouse. Why go? Well, I'm a bit of a lighthouse nut and, unfortunately, this one's on the list. I had visited back in the late 90's but, with no surviving photos, I was compelled to return. Things hadn't improved in the last decade to my dismay...I got just as wet if not wetter than the last time I visited...can't say it wasn't interesting though...

McCormick Tract Wilderness, MI (11-5-07) : Off my brother and I go to the middle of nowhere, aka. the McCormick Tract. The tract is a 16,000 acre wilderness in the middle of the Huron Mountains in the UP. We were going to do a bit of hiking and spend the night in the wild outdoors. Our target was a small rocky ridge about 2.5 miles east along the NCT from the trailhead...the unnamed highpoint for Marquette County. To complicate things the forecast was calling for a good 'ol fashioned UP winter storm...

Trap Hills, MI - Cascade Falls & Norwich Bluff (9-22-07) : In my long history of going places no one has ever heard of I now bring you the Trap Hills...They are a seldom visited range in the Western Upper Peninsula not far from the Porcupine Mountains. Up until a year or two ago I had never heard of them myself and I thought what better time to visit than during foliage season. We packed up the camper and had one of the most fun little vacations I've had in a while. This is a beautiful, all but unknown area that I wish I had discovered sooner!

Sleeping Bear Dunes, MI - Pyramid Point (4-15-07) : It was a warm, early spring day and I was excited for the chance to get back on the trail. I hadn't done much hiking in the Sleeping Bear area so Pyramid Point, one of Sleeping Bear's highest dunes, seemed a good place to start...

Peat Mountain, Lake Superior Provencial Park, ON (3-24-07) : A VERY early spring hike I took up Peat Mountain in Lake Superior Provincial Park in northern Ontario. Still a heck of a lot of snow left which made it a difficult hike. It was still beautiful though! The drive back was awesome also, check out the shots towards the end of the album for shots along scenic Highway 17 north of Sault Ste. Marie.

Deadman's Hill, MI (3-3-07) : A 3-mile winter hike down and around Deadman's Hill in Northern Michigan.
