Blue Ridge Parkway - Roanoke, VA to the Great Smoky Mountains (Summer 2006) : For a number of years I had the good fortune of living next door to one of America's premier roadways. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a road I never tired of driving...the following album is a kind of tribute to my memory of it. Most of the photos in this album were taken during two trips I took in the summer of 2006 with a few more from other times thrown in to fill gaps. The album begins on the Parkway just north of Roanok, Virginia and follows it all the way to its summer terminus at the Great Smoky Mountains...enjoy the drive!

On the Road - Marquette, MI to Waynesville, NC (January 2005) : A two-day drive from Michigan's Upper Peninsula down to the moutains of Western North Carolina. We followed Interstate 75 for most of the way south except for short stretches over to Sarnia, Ontario and of course Interstate 40 to Waynesville. I've tried to include signage whenever possible to help identify photos. Also, many photos might be either blurry, angled, or both but this is due to the fact that for most shots I was driving a vehicle down frequently busy roads while taking them...certainly not the safest idea but it helped kill time in the car! Hope you enjoy the drive...
